Primary Benefits:
Annual Salary: $19,000-21,000

Annual salary increases based on performance

Coaching Expectations: 30-35 classes/wk (coaching, managing park sites) in-season
(approx. 37 weeks/year)

Admin Expectations: When not “in-season” or class load is under 30, coach will work equivalent administrative hours (1 class = 1 hour) of 30 hrs/wk. Admin functions may include but are not limited to: marketing support, internal development projects, attending staff meetings and supporting marketing efforts.

Soccer Shots operates 7 days a week primarily between 9 and 4pm, but sometimes as early as 8am or as late as 6pm. Classes last between 30 and 45 minutes depending on the age group being served. We provide training, equipment, and all curriculum materials.

The ideal instructor meets the following criteria:
Professional – arrives on time to every session, neat in appearance, friendly and courteous with anyone and everyone. Confident and self assured in engaging with kids, parents and school administrators.
Kid Tested– We’re looking for people who have a track record of working successfully with groups of kids ages 2-8. Our primary goal, above teaching soccer, is developing children.
Soccer Smarts – no significant soccer experience is required, however, having some familiarity with the game either as a player or coach will be helpful. Significant soccer experience is a strong plus. Tremendous passion for the game would be wonderful.
Engaging- enjoys engaging not only with kids but also parents, teachers, school administrators and our community.

Overall, we’re looking for someone remarkable, that is, someone who’s performance is so meaningful and impressive that people can’t help but positively comment upon it.
Candidates with Early Childhood Education degrees, Education degrees and other directly relevant studies will be given great consideration and may enter on the higher end of the salary range stated above.
In addition to the above, a successful candidate must pass a Child Abuse History Clearance and Background Check.

Soccer Shots teaches soccer to kids ages 2-8, onsite at schools and parks throughout Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington County. We use a fun, non-competitive format and focus as much on character development as we do skill development. We encourage the habits teamwork and a healthy lifestyle amongst the children and families we serve as well as ourselves. Basically, we’re a fun, dynamic, fast growing program looking for 2-3 people who are passionate about positively impacting children through the world’s most beautiful game, soccer.

Soccer Shots began in Portland in January 2011 at 5 area schools serving 82 kids, 32 months later, we’re serving over a 1000 kids at over 80 sites each season. We are currently seeking 2-3 full time instructors to help us manage the growth we’ve experienced and to act as the foundation that will spur our future growth. Successful candidates should look forward to positively impacting the lives of children, living a healthy lifestyle, coaching a lot of soccer, having a lot of fun being a part of a dynamic team.
