Oregon referee Bennett Savage, age 19, was selected as the 2011 Region IV Young Male Referee of the Year at the US Youth Soccer Far West Regionals in Boise, Idaho. The award was made Monday evening, June 20th, at the referee meeting following the first day of games in Boise.
Thirteen other State Young Male Referees of the Year from around Region IV competed for the honor. Bennett will travel to Boston in February to represent Region IV as a candidate for US Youth Soccer National Young Male Referee of the Year at the US Youth Annual Awards Gala in conjunction with the national workshop and coaches convention.
Congratulations to Bennett Savage and all of Oregon's referees for representing Oregon so well.
