FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Oregon Youth Soccer Teams Up with Positive Coaching Alliance to
Provide Coach and Parent Educational Tools

Oregon Youth Soccer Association (OYSA) is excited to announce our recent partnership with the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA). This partnership is going to allow OYSA administrators, coaches and parents discounted access to PCA’s popular coach and parent online courses. These highly interactive courses are loaded with video from top athletes and coaches, such as PCA National Spokesperson Phil Jackson, as well as Julie Foudy.

The Double-Goal Coach® course, which has been used by numerous youth soccer clubs to train coaches, provides specific tips and techniques from leading researchers in sports and educational psychology, allowing coaches to get the best out of athletes in sports and in life.

The Second-Goal Parent® online course is for parents who want to help their children get the most from the youth sports experience. The course provides interactive tips and techniques for parents to use in talking with their children on game day, developing a productive parent-coach relationship and becoming effective and positive supporters on the sidelines.

“PCA is a quality organization that shares the same values we do regarding the importance of character, integrity and respect in sports,” said Chuck Keers, Executive Director of Oregon Youth Soccer. “This new partnership will help coaches and parents apply these principles in ways they perhaps had not thought about.”

“We’re extremely excited about providing discounted access to our online courses to OYSA members,” said Ripper Hatch, Director of Partner Development for PCA. “We’re certain that OYSA administrators, coaches and parents will find the online courses very beneficial to their goals of providing a positive experience for their athletes.”

OYSA members are encouraged to take advantage of this discount and start preparing for the 2011 Fall Season.
