GRASSROOTS 11V11 IN-PERSON COURSE – OCTOBER 26 – BEAVERTON, OR
Course Details:
IMPORTANT: This is a 9v9 and 11v11 blended (combined) Grassroots Course. Candidates must register individually for BOTH the 9v9 and 11v11 Grassroots Courses to be held on Sunday, October 27th, 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. *Both courses are required for D License eligibility.
The 11v11 In-Person Course builds on the principles covered in U.S. Soccer’s Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module. Specifically, coaches will learn more about U.S. Soccer’s Grassroots Coaching Education Philosophy, Play-Practice-Play Methodology, the Six Tasks of a Coach, and the characteristics of players aged 13 and older. The course will also ask each coach to reflect on their experiences to develop action steps for personal growth in the Six Tasks (Coaching Games, Coaching Training Sessions, Leading the Team, Leading the Player, Managing the Performance Environment, and Leadership).
Coaches who take this course can expect classroom-based learning with the facilitation of a licensed instructor, followed by on-field coaching/observation. Coaches must attend both components (classroom & field) of this specific course.
Coaches may be asked to participate in the field component as either coaches or players, so please come prepared to actively learn.
Eligibility Requirements:

U.S. SOCCER C LICENSE COURSE JANUARY 4 – MAY 3, 2026 – EUGENE, OR
Course Details:
The U.S. Soccer National C License hosted by Oregon Youth Soccer is an online and
in-person course. This blended format combines an online experience, assignments, small group
meetings, independent learning, and in-person meetings.
Course Experience
90+ hours (virtual + in-person meetings). Student coaches can expect weekly learning opportunities that will feature a mixture of independent learning using online modules, live virtual meetings, and 4-days of in-person meetings led by licensed U.S. Soccer Educators. Students should have access to the internet and a laptop/device with web-camera/live video capabilities. The virtual meetings will take place on agreed-upon days and times. Coaches may be asked to participate in the in-person field component as either coaches or players, so please come prepared to actively learn.
Eligibility Requirements:
To be considered for the U.S. Soccer C Course, applicants must meet all the following prerequisites:
- At least 18 years of age
- Hold a U.S. Soccer D license for at least six (6) months or qualify for a waiver
- During the registration process, each student coach must verify that have access to a U13+ team:
- Competing in an approved U.S. – based competition, and
- Training at least two (2) times per week for the duration of the course
- Important: Failure to comply with these requirements may result in unsuccessful completion of the course, as the student coach will be unable to fulfill required course assignments.

Coaches will be asked to participate in discussions so each person should have access to the internet and a laptop/device with web-camera/live video capabilities. The virtual meetings will take place on agreed-upon days and times (see below). Coaches may be asked to participate in the in-person field component as either coaches or players, so please come prepared to actively learn.
Eligibility Requirements:
To register for the U.S. Soccer National D License, all candidates must meet the following prerequisites:
- Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
- Two (2) Different Grassroots In-Person Licenses (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, or 11v11)
- One (1) Grassroots Online License (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, or 11v11)
OR
- Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
- Previously Earned U.S. Soccer E License
OR
- Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
- Previously Earned U.S. Soccer F License
- Two (2) Grassroots In-Person (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, or 11v11)
AND
- Coaches must have access to a team (the range is from U7 to U12) for the duration of the course

Coaches will be required to allot an average of 1 hour and 10 minutes each week for virtual course meetings.
Weekly Virtual Meetings: For our weekly virtual meetings, you’ll have the opportunity to select from two available time slots:

It is required that you attend all virtual and in-person meetings.

U.S. SOCCER CTL LEVEL 1 COURSE – JANUARY 7 – MAY 29, 2026 – VIRTUAL
Course Details:
The U.S. Soccer CTL Level 1 Course, hosted by Washington Youth Soccer Association in a unique collaboration with Utah Youth Soccer Association, Oregon Youth Soccer Association, Nevada Youth Soccer Association, Cal North Soccer, and Wyoming Youth Soccer Association, is a VIRTUAL course.
The VIRTUAL format combines an online experience, assignments, small group meetings, independent learning, and summative assessment interviews.
Course Experience
80-90 hours (virtual or blended)
Club technical leaders who register for this course can expect weekly learning opportunities that will feature a mixture of independent learning using online modules and live virtual meetings led by licensed U.S. Soccer Educators. Club technical leaders will be asked to participate in discussions so each person should have access to the internet and a laptop/device with web-camera/live video capabilities.
Eligibility Requirements:
To register for the U.S. Soccer CTL Level 1 Course, individuals must meet the following prerequisites:
- At least 18 years of age
- Hold a U.S. Soccer B license
- Have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in a club technical leadership role (DOC, Technical Director, Age Group/Gender DOC, GK DOC)
Waiver Information
*Application for a waiver of the U.S. Soccer B License may be considered based on the following:
- Club technical leader has 10 years of club technical leadership experience AND a U.S. Soccer C License OR
- The club technical leader has a recognized equivalent foreign license
AND
Must be currently serving in a technical leadership role within a club responsible in full or in part for:
- Club player development philosophy
- Club player development plan or age group development plan
- Club coach development plan or age group coach development plan

Course Outcome
On successful completion of the course assessment, student coaches will receive the U.S. Soccer Club Technical Leadership Level 1 License.
Course Policies:
- Club technical leaders who register for this course are expected to attend all course meetings and complete all assignments by the due dates to be eligible to receive the license
- Club technical leaders must be currently serving in a technical leadership role within a club responsible in full or in part for:
