Oregon Youth Soccer Foundation
The Oregon Youth Soccer Foundation’s mission is to be inclusive for all of Oregon’s youth and continually strive to create opportunities for communities to grow and strengthen together.
History
The Oregon Youth Soccer Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization, formed as the fundraising arm of the OYSA in November 1996. OYSA initially provided funding to the Foundation from membership dues. As operations have evolved over the years, the Foundation is now responsible for raising money to fund its programs and goals via charitable contributions and sponsorships. Where OYSA focuses on administering the game and all of its benefits, the Foundation focuses on providing outreach programs to support soccer players.
The Foundation’s Focus Areas
The Foundation was established with the goal of providing member clubs with a source of funding for:
- Programs promoting equity and inclusion for all Oregon’s youth while striving to create opportunities for communities to grow and strengthen together through the game of soccer;
- Field development;
- Scholarship/financial-aid opportunities;
- Coaching education; and
- Referee education.
How the Foundation is Creating Impact
Scholarships
Oregon Youth Soccer Foundation has received funds from gracious donors & Oregon Youth Soccer Association to support a volunteer club player’s scholarship. This scholarship is for low-income status applications. If your club is a predominantly volunteer base club that possibly has families who face the financial burdens of registration fees to play soccer. Oregon Youth Soccer Foundation has placed the needs of our players and their soccer communities at the forefront of our work. The Foundation’s Scholarship fund will provide much-needed financial support to economically challenged and underserved athletes. This newly established scholarship fund hopes to ease the club, family, and player burden so that our athletes can enjoy playing without the added weight of economic stress.
Fields
Central to the Foundation’s current funding goals is to support OYSA’s acquisition of land for development. Currently renting fields for its programming — a costly endeavor, and one that puts OYSA at a disadvantage since fields typically prioritize patrons — OYSA is seeking to build a complex of its own. This will allow OYSA to expand its programming and enhance its long-term sustainability.

Project Vision
Our vision is to create a premier destination for sports and recreation, where athletes of all ages can thrive. The facility will include:
- State-Hosted Tournaments: The complex will host state-level tournaments, offering a high-quality venue for competitive play.
- ODP Activities: We will have dedicated spaces for Olympic Development Program (ODP) activities, helping to nurture and develop young talent.
- On-Site Offices: The complex will house OYSA’s administrative offices, providing a centralized location for staff operations.
- Meeting Spaces: Our facility will include meeting spaces to support various events, workshops, and community gatherings.
