Eligibility Requirements
• At least 18 years of age
• Have held a U.S. Soccer D license for at least 6 months OR meet the waiver guidelines
• Must have access to a team (U13+) in a participation environment for the duration of the course

• Four (4) Months (Including summative assessment) with Four (4) in-person days
• Live weekly learning activities tailored to meet the student coaches’s needs

Oregon Youth Soccer Association – U.S. Soccer D Course Beaverton, OR – January 26 ,2025- March 10, 2025
Course Details:
The U.S. Soccer D License hosted by Oregon Youth Soccer Association is an online and in-person
course. This blended format combines an online experience, assignments, small group meetings,
independent learning, and in-person meeting.

Eligibility Requirements:
To register for the U.S. Soccer D course, all applicants must meet the following prerequisites:
• At least 18 years of age
• Currently coaching or have access to a team U6-U12
• Have completed Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
• Have completed Two (2) GR IP courses and one (1) GR OL course
or
• Have completed Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
• Previously Earned USSF E License
or
• Have completed Introduction to Grassroots Coaching
• Previously Earned USSF F License
• Two (2) Additional Grassroots In-Person (4v4, 7v7, or 9v9)
Course Experience:
48+ hours (virtual + in-person meetings)
Students who register for this course can expect weekly learning opportunities that will feature a
mixture of independent learning using online modules, live virtual meetings, and in-person
meetings led by a licensed U.S. Soccer Educator. Students should have access to the internet and
a laptop/device with web camera/live video capabilities. The virtual meetings will take place on
agreed-upon days and times (see below). Students may be asked to participate in the in-person
field component as either coaches or players, so please come prepared to actively learn.
Course duration:
Nine (9) weeks (Including summative assessment) with two (2) in-person weekends

Students that register for this course are expected to attend all course meetings and
complete all assignments in order to be eligible for the final assessment

El curso presencial 11v11 es un curso de cuatro horas que se basa en los principios tratados en el módulo Introducción al entrenamiento de base de U.S. Soccer. Específicamente, los entrenadores aprenderán más sobre la filosofía de educación de entrenamiento de base de U.S. Soccer, la metodología de juego-práctica-juego, las seis tareas de un entrenador y las características de los jugadores de 13 años o más. El curso también le pedirá a cada entrenador que reflexione sobre sus experiencias para desarrollar pasos de acción para el crecimiento personal en las seis tareas (entrenamiento de partidos, sesiones de entrenamiento de entrenadores, liderazgo del equipo, liderazgo del jugador, gestión del entorno de rendimiento y liderazgo).

The 11v11 In-Person Course is a four-hour course that builds on the principles covered in U.S. Soccer’s Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module. Specifically, coaches will learn more about U.S. Soccer’s Grassroots Coaching Education Philosophy, Play-Practice-Play Methodology, the Six Tasks of a Coach, and the characteristics of players aged 13 and older.
