Starting Out

OYSA is committed to providing all coaches, from beginner to advanced, with education tailored to their experiences and the needs of their players.

The Coaching License Pathway consists of a series of courses designed to meet the specific needs of a coach at every step of the way.

Through courses offered locally, to partnering with US Soccer on a national level, OYSA believes education is a journey, and our goal is to provide the necessary tools, guidance, and mentorship a coach requires along their way.

OYSA believes that every coach should have some level of education in order to enhance the experience for kids in the state. To that end, we have required every coach to have a valid coach license by 12.23.24 in order to participate in our leagues.

A great way to start your coaching journey is to sign up with the Learning Center and take their free educational course.

If you would like more information on a specific pathway, please email our Director of Education, Rochelle Hearns.
