We’re thrilled to introduce the newest member of the Oregon Youth Soccer community – Footy the Sasquatch!
Inspired by Pacific Northwest legend and brought to life with OYSA spirit, Footy represents everything we love about the game: fun, excitement, and unforgettable experiences for our players, families, and clubs across the state.
“Footy speaks to the heart of what we’re all about!” said OYSA Executive Director Simon Date. “Soccer should be fun, exciting, and all about the kids. And, on rare occasions, when the timing is just right, soccer should be 7′ tall, mysterious, and hairy!”
Designed to energize our events and bring smiles to the sidelines, Footy will create new opportunities for connection and celebration throughout the OYSA community.
“The unveiling of our mascot, Footy – a rooted NW legend – inspires FUN, fuels engagement, and creates meaningful experiences for Oregon Youth Soccer players, families, and the communities we serve,” added OYSA Technical Director Greg Maas.
Where You’ll See Footy First
Footy will make his official in-person debut at the President’s Cup Semifinals and Finals in Medford on May 2–3. From there, he’ll continue the excitement at State Cup on May 9, with plans to appear at nearly every major OYSA event moving forward.
We can’t wait for you to meet Footy and experience the energy he’ll bring to Oregon Youth Soccer. Be sure to say hello, snap a photo, and join us in welcoming our newest (and tallest) supporter!
